American Distress
Formed in 2001 out of the ashes of INDK, American Distress plays hardcore punk. Former Choking Victim and INDK drummer Skwert started this group with INDK lead guitarist Paul. Bassist Matt and singer Rich recorded the powerfully heavy, yet catchy, self titled 4 song demo released the same year. The group immediately set out to tour the U.S. and be a live band, something INDK never got to do.
After many successful road trips and live shows, the band started to work on their full length LP with engineer Jesse Cannon. After the music was laid down, Matt left the band, unable to go on frequent tours. Different people filled in and the slot was finally filled by Chris aka "Heavy Metal Chris". Touring resumed. During these recordings Rich also left the group. He was quickly replaced with longtime friend and roadie, Mike PSF. The shows and tours that followed were quite a spectacle. Kids expecting ska punk or something a little less abrasive, were exposed to manically intense musicianship and adrenalin with screaming, over the top vocals. Some appeared stunned or puzzled. The last two tours dissolved the band due to inner tension and personality clashes. Much like the demise of INDK and CV before that.
Since then Mike continues to front PSF (Piss,Shit, Fuck) Skwert started and fronted Public Serpents, while Paul pursued his art career as "ANGRY EEL" and released a melodic punk full length album on 11/11/11 of INDK/A.D. style hardcore punk songs.
